Giving Day 2021 Recap
Thank you for making Giving Day 2021 such a smashing success. Together, 866 donors raised more than $1.3 million to support teaching and learning. Generous challenge donors galvanized donor support to make this one of our most successful Giving Days: Jason ’97 and Mary Dillow, Douglas ’58 and Cynthia Crocker, Molly de Ramel ’88 and Guillaume de Ramel P ’24, Yeng Felipe Butler ’92 and Charles K. Butler P ’25 ’33, and Ivan ’92 and Angie Ting P ’22, along with anonymous donors. Their combined support added more than $245,000 to our Giving Day totals.
Visiting Artist Aaron Goldberg ’91
The Milton community recently heard from acclaimed jazz pianist Aaron Goldberg ’91 during a webinar made possible by the Melissa Dilworth Gold ‘61 Visiting Artist Fund. Aaron spoke about his journey to becoming a musician, how he developed his own music style and why he continues to push himself as a professional. He even included a special musical performance of John Coltrane’s ballad “Lonnie’s Lament.” Learn more about his visit.
Milton Alumnus Featured on NPR
Patrick Radden Keefe ’94 was featured on NPR’s, Fresh Air to discuss his new book “Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty.” Interviewed by Terry Gross, Patrick explains the history of the Sackler family, the owners of Purdue Pharma, whose actions contributed to the opioid crisis. Alumni Insights: Presidential Legacies
Milton recently had the honor of hosting a webinar titled “Presidential Politics: Building a Legacy,” featuring LBJ Presidential Library Director Mark Atwood Lawrence ’84, moderated by Doug Chavez ’93. The event featured a presentation of the museum’s collection, a discussion on presidential legacies, and a lively question-and-answer session with attendees. Watch the webinar to learn more.
